Song slam March 28, 2005

Now hosted by Trevor Spilchen and Rowan Lipkovits, the Song Slam follows in the wake of the phenomenally successful Vancouver Poetry Slam as a little bit of monthly mano-a-mano competition between individual singer-songwriters and their original compositions, duking it out for the entertainment and delight of the sorts of people who see their shadow and go back into hiding when Shindig! ends. A battle of the bands, minus the bands. Performers compete for real cash prizes, as judged by randomly-selected members of the audience. $5 to gawk. Sign-up at 8 pm, showtime at 9.
