'SOLVE Lives' is a collaborative mural project dedicated to the life of Brendan Scanlon, better known as a 24-year-old graphic designer and street artist born in Madison and working in Chicago, killed in June 2008. Featuring artists from Chicago, Kansas City and Madison, the intent of this project is to "celebrate life, creativity and communication as the antidote to grief and anger," says curator Nicole Emanuel. "This project is infused with grace." The exhibit brings commentary on ethnic slurs, war, love, language, sign language, beauty and self-expression.
