TORONTO – Pride Week will get a heady dose of tropical rare grooves with the bold debut of a yearly culturally diverse LGBTTIQ2S-embracing event, Solstice Pride. Swathed in the thematic hues of Purple & Gold – a nod to the kings and queens of the Church Street community – Solstice Pride will celebrate confidence and the diversity of sexuality on the longest day of the year, Thursday, June 21, 2007 at Footwork Bar (425 Adelaide Street West).

Offering up a bill that includes the live debut performance of Dreamfirst (torncity) alongside selectors A Man Called Warwick (Ducktape.ca), Inutia, P. Bugster , Kalmplex and ree raw (Frontish), Solstice Pride will be sure to turn out the brightest golden bois and golden stars with underground polyrhythmic sounds like downtempo hip hop, ska, afrobeat, samba, funk and lounge.
