San Francisco CA - CALENCO IS BACK!!!

The insistent, pulse-pounding rhythms of Sol Y Luna's "Calenco", California Flamenco, as the group calls it, combines Flamenco and salsa montuno driven by blazing Afro-Cuban percussion.

Reuniting on November 16th are some of the most famous and talented musicians in northern California. Leading the group's reunion is Spanish flamenco guitarist vocalist Jose Manuel Blanco "El Grillu". Joining "El Grillu" are guitarist Don Fontowitz, congero vocalist Edgardo Cambon, bassist David Belove, flutist saxophonist Melecio Magdaluyo, Percussionist Michael Spiro, Violinist Anthony Blea, flutist John Calloway and percussionist Danilo Paiz. On stage, Sol Y Luna's Edgardo Cambon accompanies Cuban guitarist vocalist Kenia Rodriguez, bassist Mark Kraft, Latin percussionist Louie Flores Jr. and Middle Eastern percussionist Dror Sinai from Israel.
