On Saturday, April 17th, Manchildblack/Hype Life Music invites you to get lifted at Sol Ascension!

This special night will celebrate the the long awaited NYC return of "Nu Soul" supergroup Silhouette Brown. Flying high off the critical acclaim of their newly released second album two, Silhouette Brown is produced by the trilogy that is Dego(2000black/4hero), Kaidi Tatham (2000black/Agent K/Bugz In The Attic) and Bembe Segue, who adds her distinctive co-writing/production talent. Joining them on the new album and on stage is the powerhouse vocalist from Philly, Lady Alma. "Tha Lady" has appeared on countless club classics from Sylk130’s ‘When the Funk Hits The Fan’ to the Mercury Award nominated 4hero’s ‘Hold It Down’.

On the decks for the night is one of Chi town's own, Ron Trent (Prescription Records). This legendary DJ/Producer that has been making a mark on the Deep House/Global Soul scene since the ‘90’s, and is considered one of the architects of the Chicago music scene. From his popular residencies at Giant Step Weekly Sessions and AFRICA HI FI, to his incredible production on tracks by Amel Larrieux, Jody Watley and Carl Hancock Rux, Ron is a true musical force of nature.
