Sol has performed around the world with roots and r&b legends, and performs a unique mix of funk, blues, rock, and reggae original songs, as well as a few tasty covers. His CD Freedom includes musicians that that toured with Jah Works, Corey Harris, Ana Popovic, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Hobex, the Alliens and more.

Sol is bringing a cast of highly talented musicians to a hot spot for music in southwest Virginia. Sol works with the incredibly solid drummer Scott Rabino (of Tommy Castro, Idle Americans, Billy Woodward) and deep groove bassist Mike Tony Echols (of Mary Ann Redmond, Bobby Thompson, Politicks). Also keyboardist and vocalist Jamiel Allen of the popular world jam group the ALLIENS will be a part of Funk Root at this concert!
