Society for the Performing Arts presents Paddy Moloney and The Chieftains with special guests, Houston's own St. Thomas Episcopal Pipe Band, on Feb. 25 at 8 p.m. in Jones Hall. February marks the 35th anniversary of The Chieftains' first North American tour.

For the Celtic Connection 2009 tour, The Chieftains plan to offer audiences a taste of the overall influence Celtic music has had internationally, Chieftains Leader Paddy Moloney said. The group will also preview its upcoming project related to the Celtic-Mexican connection.

Since The Chieftains' formation in 1962, the group has won six Grammy Awards, been the first Western group to perform on the Great Wall of China and been named Ireland's Musical Ambassador.
