Modus Cooperandi Presents:
Social Media Workshops for Restaurateurs

Note new Date! Now 16 October, 2008!

Please watch for our next dates!

Restaurants need customers, a good reputation and timely business advice. Bad reviews can drive customers away, good reviews can attract them. Popular social media applications like Yelp, Facebook and Twitter can provide these. However, they can also take them away.

Social media enables users to get information they deem as trustworthy. Due to interactions on sites like Yelp customers are more likely to use social media coverage in restaurant selection then other media like newspapers or magazines. The upside is that social media is free media. The downside is that its personal nature can allow negativity to fester. By understanding their role in social media interaction restaurateurs can increase their positive reviews and their business.

The methods we teach in our workshops will help restaurateurs manage their social media reputations in a time efficient way that will increase their business.

For the price of a typical 4 person check, we will cover:

* How to recognize when something is damaging your reputation on-line and what to do about it.
* How restaurant owners and managers can effectively respond to and participate in social media.
* Effectively tracking of what’s being said about your restaurant on the web.
* How you can use this information to improve service and attract customers.
* Targeting customers that are more likely to become regulars.
* How to get your clients to review your restaurant and link to your web site.
* How to increase traffic to your web site.
* Using social media to meet peers and create co-marketing opportunities or advice sharing.

Workshops are designed to be hands-on and intimate, with a limit of 18 to 24 people per workshop.

Chris C., a Yelp user, said, "When I see a bad review I try to read it to determine how legit it seems. Often somebody has one thing that ticks them off (often not even business' fault) and slam the business because their "experience" was so bad.

I'd say I do weigh bad reviews (after determining legitimacy) higher because too many people give 5 star reviews as long as it didn't suck. I remember how my mom used to love 95% of movies she saw....same thing. Most people aren't that picky and review higher."
