A rare opportunity to taste hand-made Japanese Soba noodles!

On November 4, visitors to the National Nikkei Museum & Heritage Centre will have a rare opportunity to taste authentic Japanese teuchi soba (hand-rolled buckwheat noodles). Soba chef Yasumasa Ouchi and his wife Yuko are coming with their son and daughter from Sendai, Miyagi, Japan, and are paying their own travel expenses, bringing special buckwheat flour and other necessary ingredients.

Chef Ouchi will serve hand-made Mori Soba (cold noodles) with sliced duck. Only 200 servings will be available. Reservations will be accepted for the first 100 servings, with the remaining 100 served on a first-come, first-served basis.
Fee: $6 per serving.
