Smithsonian Young Benefactors Gala and Silent Auction May 16, 2009

This elegant, black tie affair will feature a Roaring Twenties’ theme, music by Raggs & The All-Stars band, dancing, an open bar and gourmet hors d’oeuvres. Guests are invited to participate in a silent auction, which includes luxurious items such as executive suite Washington Capitals tickets, sailing lessons at the Washington Sailing Marina and a ruby-and-diamond pendant from Adeler Jewelers.

Members and nonmembers are invited to join the celebration while promoting a worthy cause. Proceeds from ticket sales and auction purchases will benefit The Smithsonian Associates and the Young Benefactors’ Culture4Kids Fund, which provides opportunities for local youth to attend Discovery Theater performances and Smithsonian Summer Camp.
