One of the original “Mad Men” of advertising fame, Norman Brown was the former CEO of one of the largest agencies in the world. Here he recounts his adventures traveling the globe after he retired—climbing Kilimanjaro and Fuji, going to base camp of K2, retracing Marco Polo’s route along the Silk Road and, closer to home, rafting the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon, among many others that. Incredibly, he did this in the seventh and eight decades of his life, often in the company of people half his age. With nearly 200 color photographs, most by Brown himself, and others by luminaries such as Galen Rowell, as well as introductory texts and over 100 poems composed by Brown, this is a uniquely compelling, intimate portrait not only of the world’s wildest and most exotic places, but of an entertaining and inspiring person.
