Sleep-Inn Re-opens in Amsterdam
Nocturnal care for art buyers and cleaners

Amsterdam will have a Sleep-Inn again. The cultural institution Mediamatic offers a free place to sleep for cleaners and visitors of Art Amsterdam from 7 till 12 May. The Sleep-Inn is part of the (Con)Temporary Museum Amsterdam. All art-lovers can spend the night for free and visit the performances of the two hostesses Melanie Bonajo (NL) and Kinga Kielczynska (PL) called Mediummatic, 5 days of alternative communication from 08.30 pm untill 10.00 pm

The Sleep-Inn is a performance-friendly environment made by artists. You’ll be offered a stretcher, running water, bathrooms and a snack. There is room for 60 people a night. You’ll be brought to sleep with lullabies or if that fails, you can order a nightcap. And should you forget your sleeping bag, we have them for rent for 3 euros a night.

Kinga Kielczynska and Melanie Bonajo create new unthinkable worlds with installations and rituals. They worked together in the project Modern Life of the Soul and put the installation The culture that doesn’t exist on show at the Gallery Fons Welters in September 2007.
