Sleep Infection was originally started by drummer Joe Grice and guitarist Dimitris Katsikadakos. They started the band to bring something different and new to the metal scene. After playing with the original lineup for a year, they met Ron DeVincent and recruited him as the second guitarist. Shortly after that, they added bassist John Kaburopulos.
