Maverick philosopher Slavoj Zizek isn't one to hold back. Having previously tackled Lenin, terrorism and TV series 24 in his confrontational cultural critiques, he now turns his attention to the silver screen. The ICA's Perverted Cinema season explores Zizek's inimitable analysis of film as ideological tool. To kick off the series, Zizek undoes everything you thought you understood about the work of directors such as Hitchcock and David Lynch. The seminal films covered in the documentary — including Psycho, Blue Velvet, The Fountainhead and The Birds — screen in their entirety throughout the season's run. (CA)

NB: Zizek takes part in two live events at the ICA on Sat 7 (6pm, £15) and Sun 8 (4pm, £15) Oct.
