Tattooed fire dancers, inked burlesque stars, an illustrated magician, and an adorned contortionist will strut the runway stage at the Portland Art Museum’s Skinvisible Tattoo Revue Saturday, July 25. This sexy spectacle, presented by MacTarnahan’s Brewing Company, celebrates the art of tattoo through performance, music, and fashion in conjunction with the museum’s presentation of Marking Portland: The Art of Tattoo, now on view in the Museum galleries.

A one-day event, Skinvisible will also feature tattoo demonstrations by noted Portland artists and a tribute to the city’s godfather of tattoo: Don Deaton of Sea Tramp. Visitors can try their hand at tattooing and learn more about this ancient art form and how it is practiced today.

Tattoo Revue performances are July 25 at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., for ages 21 and over only. Tickets are $30 for preferred front row seating. General admission is $20 for Museum members; $25 non-members. Tickets available online at portlandartmuseum.org. Tattoo fans of all ages can attend the Skinvisible Tattoo Expo from noon to 9 p.m. Tickets are free for Museum members, $12 adult general admission, children 17 and younger are free.
