Observe, learn, and draw surrounding by art.

Join artist and Art School faculty member Germaine Keller and focus on the drawings in Modern Art. Modern Lives: Then, especially those by Toulouse-Lautrec, Matisse, Picasso aand Manet. Then move to the contemporary side, Modern Art. Modern Lives: Now, especially the texture and movement in the work of Julie Mehrutu. In repeating the artist's process by sketching from his work, you can gain a richer understanding and appreciation for the work itself.

This casual drop-in art activity is for all experience levels. Bring your own art supplies, or borrow some from the FamilyLab or purchase at the Museum Store. (Only dry media in the galleries please.)

Sketching in the Galleries will occur every Saturday from 12-2pm through November 1. Each week a local artist facilitates drawing.
