Heart disease is the leading killer of American women, claiming more lives than the next six causes of death combined. However, only 46% of women know this critical fact and only 13% consider it their greatest potential health threat. The good news is that in most cases, heart disease can be prevented by making simple lifestyle changes.

Ladies, love your heart by coming out to the fourth annual Sister to Sister National Womens Heart Health Fair at the Dallas Convention Center on Saturday, February 9, from 9 a.m. 5 p.m. Take advantage of FREE 15-minute heart health screenings with on-the-spot results and one-on-one counseling with a licensed professional (comprehensive screenings include cholesterol and triglycerides, blood glucose levels, blood pressure, Body Mass Index, waist circumference, and review of family health history). PLEASE NOTE: HEART SCREENINGS ARE FOR WOMEN AGES 21 AND UP (the first 1,500 people will be screened).

There will also be lots of fun activities for the entire family! Enjoy ongoing healthy cooking and fitness demonstrations and stress management seminars with interactive exhibits and counseling. Browse the various exhibitor booths, and register for prizes and giveaways. Catch up on the latest medical developments at educational seminars led by local experts, and hear amazing testimonials from local heart disease survivors.

Its never too early to start loving your heart! In fact, because of obesity, stress, lack of exercise and fatty diets, women are now getting heart disease much earlier in life. Come learn about heart disease and how to prevent it it might just save your life!

The National Womens Heart Health Fair is sponsored by the Sister to Sister Foundation, a 501(c)(3) foundation dedicated to bringing free heart disease screenings and heart-health information to women to prevent heart disease. Operating in 17 major cities in 2008, Sister to Sister is the only national organization whose focus is screening women for heart disease, the number one killer of women.
