This week enjoy dinner at Coco Pazzo:

"“Fresh, flavorful ingredients” and “perfect homemade pastas” are the hallmark of this “hip”, “exquisite” Northern Italian “perennial winner” that brings Tuscany to River North; an all-Italy wine list features “some out-of-the-ordinary choices”, and “quality service” reigns over the “warm”, “sophisticated” “retro-warehouse setting” outfitted with “wood beams and exposed brick” – as for cost, some praise “fair prices for the quality”, others consign it to the “expense account” category; N.B. the Food score may not reflect a chef change." - Zagat.com

"Coco Pazzo, under the hand of executive chef Chris Macchia, has evolved into one of Chicago's finest Italian restaurants. There is a great awareness here of the depth and breadth of the grand repertoire of Italian cooking---classic, traditional and new ideas---and that makes it rather special. And then there is the attention to detail. Consider a simple pasta dish: gnocchi alla Parmigiano, in which homemade potato dumplings are dressed lightly and properly with a fresh-tasting tomato sauce accented with Parmesan. Well done in every way is the risotto with shavings of fresh white truffles (in season). Ah, their remarkable fragrance, the truffles making the dish so indulgently delicious, the rice cooked so nicely al dente. Bravo! Even the pizza tastes great. One dessert not to miss is the warm chocolate cake with a molten center and a scoop of cappuccino ice cream. The service is right on the mark, and there's an excellent selection of regional and classic Italian wines." - Gayot.com
