Bay Area jazz vocalist Wesla Whitfield has become one of the most gifted performers with a knack for breathing life into that exquisite body of Broadway tunes, movie songs and Hit Parade numbers known collectively as the Great American Songbook. Ms. Whitfield will perform a variety of popular songs from the Great American Songbook with arranger/pianist Mike Greensill.

About Wesla Whitfield

Trained in classical music and opera, Whitfield, though based in San Francisco, now spends much of her time in New York, working such noted rooms as the Algonquin Oak Room, Le Jazz Au Bar, The Metropolitan Room and Joe’s Pub at New York’s Public Theater, her current aerie. She has also appeared in concert at NY Town Hall, Avery Fisher and Carnegie Hall. Whitfield and Greensill have garnered numerous national television, radio and written media credits including, All Things Considered, Fresh Air with Teri Gross, People Magazine, CBS Sunday Morning, New York Times Sunday Magazine, DownBeat Magazine profile and a feature in ‘O’ Magazine.



About The Dance Palace

The Dance Palace is a non-profit community center providing a wide variety of educational, recreational, cultural and community services to children, adults and seniors in western Marin County. The Dance Palace serves as the central community facility for the small, semi-rural coastal villages of West Marin including Point Reyes Station, Inverness, Olema, Nicasio, Marshall, Bolinas and Stinson Beach. Originally founded in 1971 as a studio for dance, in an historical building referred to locally as the "Old Palace", the Dance Palace has developed into one of the most active community facilities in the Bay Area.
