Annual Singhey-Khababs Spring Festival

Being organised for the past few years in Leh city on the banks of river Indus, the Sindhu Darshan festival also aims at projecting the Indus as a symbol of India’s unity, communal harmony and national integrity thus providing a golden opportunity to the people from all states of the country to visit picturesque Ladakh.

The festival offers a cultural bonanza to the tourists besides Ladakhi dances and a ballet by actor Tom Alter’s art troupe. One of main highlights of the cultural bonanza is a 20-minute ballet “Abhi Shar Aa Bale” from the poetry of Rabindranath Tagore, based on the teachings of Lord Buddha. The main performers were Tom Alter, Sharmila Ganguli and Raje Arimdhan.
