This new show, Simply Etta, is our tribute to iconic singer Etta James. It features the outstanding actress Sheran Goodspeed Keyton as Etta James and Alessandro Serano on piano. The stories you will hear are the words of Etta James, taken directly from her autobiography, fthe liner notes of her albums, and online transcripts from interviews. By using Etta James’ own words and songs, Sheran creates a vivid portrait of one of the most amazing singers in modern music.

The iconic Etta James crosses all musical genres: blues, jazz, rock, r&b, even gospel. Earlier this year, tragic stories began circulating about Miss James’ health: that she suffers from dementia or Alzheimer’s and has cancelled all public appearances. This show begins in 2010 in the midst of her current state of mind, and flashes back to moments of the sheer brilliance that only a talent of such magnitude could bring!
The show will take place at Tuckers’ Blues, 2617 Commerce Street, Dallas, TX 75226. Performances are Sunday and Monday evenings at 7pm beginning January 22, and will run thru February 14th.
