Simon Shaheen in "The Call: Songs of Liberation" April 27, 2013

Palestinian composer and musician Simon Shaheen presents The Call: Songs of Liberation at the Chan Centre, April 27, 2013 at 8pm.

Playing on the violin and the oud, the artist will perform anthemic 1950s and ‘60s songs by Arab composers that have taken on new resonance in the freedom movements of North Africa and the Middle East, as well as a new, original composition by Shaheen himself.
