Four poets publishing new collections read from and discuss their poetry. Simon Armitage brings us a new version of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, one of the earliest great stories of English literature, and also reads from Tyrannosaurus Rex versus the Corduroy Kid, his wittiest, most impassioned collection to date. Minsk, Lavinia Greenlaw’s third collection, explores questions of place—the childhood landscapes we leave behind, those we travel towards, and those like ‘Minsk’ which we believe to be missing from our lives. Look We Have Coming to Dover! is the long-awaited debut collection from Daljit Nagra, winner of the Forward Prize for Best Individual Poem in 2004. The poems in Hugo Williams’s Dear Room register the goodbye look of things, and ponder the difference between a good memory and an inability to forget.
