Firebird Dance Theatre presents “Simcha … A Celebration of Life” a dance performance of Jewish American History.

Campbell, CA – On December 7, 2008, Firebird Dance Theatre will present its new and much awaited “Simcha,” a dance show at the Campbell Heritage Theatre. “Simcha” is a new tale that inspired by the well-known stories of Sholom Aleichem. It is a touching celebration of the spirit, and history of the Jewish culture, using the art forms of dance and music.

“Simcha” is a travelogue journey that begins in the shtetls of Eastern Europe and ends in America. The story will immerse the audience into the emotions felt by a family torn away from their village and transported to a new land and an unknown life… This is a most unique and entertaining event of its kind!

Firebird Dance Theatre –always impresses the audience with their non-conventional approach to dance - a flight of fancy and high creativeness. The Firebird Dance Theater consists of passionate people, with a common goal, to excel in the art of dance. They provide to the community an environment, which nurtures the awareness of how different cultures use dance and theatre to express their heritage through stories, music and costumes of traditional dress.

A portion of all proceeds from “Simcha” will be donated to the Ben Yakir Youth Village in Israel. The Ben Yakir Village is a charity organization in Israel that helps at-risk youth and enriches their lives.

A must see show for the entire family. I was moved by the kids performance, their transformation to the everyday life in a small village was very touching. I felt like I am one of the characters on that show. A well done job on the music, staging and the costumes. Definitely will recommend to see this show to everyone.
