The Silverlight course will be a hands-on tutorial-based class where we will build a demo website similar to this: http://windowspresentationfoundation.com/Silverlight/Default.html
The WPF course will teach you everything you need to know to start developing WPF applications on your own. We will learn about the Blend and C# Express IDEs. We will learn about XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language) and how it and C# play different roles in WPF applications. We will learn about the Blend Timeline Panel to create StoryBoard animations. We will learn about VisualBrushes that allow us to "brush" content onto other objects. We will learn about 3D XAML objects and how to import them into and manipulate them in Blend. We will then learn how to create Events and EventHandlers that will then run our StoryBoards.
Below is a video example of how you will be developing in Silverlight:
Victor Gaudioso is a former Flash Developer who started learning WPF and Silverlight in October of '06 under Andrew Whiddett, one of the foremost experts in WPF and Silverlight.
Victor is a senior WPF/Silverlight developer and works for a company called IdentityMine who specializes solely in the development of WPF and Silverlight applications.
Victor and IdentityMine have recently been tasked with building WPF applications for Microsoft's new Surface technology (surface.com) for Fortune 500 companies such as Harrah's and T-Mobile.
Currently, Victor is writing a book with Apress/Friends of Ed publishers on WPF development and is also in talks with them about a book on Silverlight development.
