Silver Terrace Playground Wellness Day June 4, 2011

A group of your neighbors have been heavily involved in putting together what promises to be a pretty kick-butt wellness day for Saturday, June 4 in Silver Terrace, from 10AM - 2PM , and wanted to invite you to mark you calendars and to join us for the day.

We'll be at the Silver Terrace Playground, at Silver Ave at Bayshore Blvd, (http://bit.ly/STP_map), with access to the park from either Silver Ave (at Elmira) or from Waterville St. There’s on-street parking, or access via the number 9 or 44 bus.

11:00 Gardening demonstration (Quesada Gardens, Urban Sprouts, and Flowercraft)
11:30 30-minute hula class (Makani DaSilva)
12:00 Gardening demonstration (Quesada Gardens, Urban Sprouts, and Flowercraft)
12:30 1-hr Basic non-certificate CPR class (Chris Schlesinger)
12:30 1-hr line dancing class
1:30 Gardening demonstration (Quesada Gardens, Urban Sprouts, and Flowercraft)

Ambulance for kids to learn and play in (AMR)

Expert health and medical information (API Wellness, SFGH, NEMS, Clinic by the Bay, UCSF)
Free vegetable give-away (Veggie Table, Veritable Vegetable, SF Wholesale Produce Market, and Bi-Rite)
Kids activities (Portola Family Connections, Our Family Coalition)

If you participate in five events (including eating lunch, visiting a health expert, and taking home some free veggies), then you'll be eligible to participate in our drawing for one of two brand new Timbuk2 messenger bags, which retail for over $100 each.

Everything has been generously donated to this event by local businesses, neighbors, and health care organizations. The event has been organized by your neighbors, Neighborhood Parks Council, Portola Family Connections, the San Francisco Department of Rec & Park, Quesada Gardens Initiative, and Parks94124.
