Black President, the second album from Sila and the Afrofunk Experience (http://afrofunk.net), finds them at a crossroads-moving toward progress and change in both our lives and our music. A musical and artistic breakthrough, the album reflects a deeper realization of our ever-evolving identity. Fans of their debut album,The Funkiest Man in Africa, will no doubt notice that on Black President, their musical chemistry has blossomed and the songwriting has matured; they delve deeper into funky Afro-groove and socially-conscious, politically-aware messages.

Since being leaked as an mp3 on January 19th-one day before Obama's inauguration-"Black President" amassed over 4,000 downloads in just 48 hours, and has already garnered write-ups in SF Weekly, World Music Central, and airplay on KPFA's "Hard Knock Radio."
