This is best for those already going to this concert, altho there are still seats left:
www.ticketmaster.com/venue/24622?brand=townhall - This event does not include any comp to the concert, nor does it promise meeting Joan, but one never knows about that.
Endorsing and Supporting Barack Obama is the first time in her fifty-year career Joan Baez has taken a position in partisan politics. Her reasons can he seen here: www.joanbaez.com/obama
I was given her OK to enlist volunteers amongst her concert-goers. She will mention our presence that evening (in some way or other ;)
Unfortunately this must take place OUTSIDE, as Town Hall itself cannot host anything political, being a 501(c)(3) Charity.
Weather permitting, I'd like to gather 2-4 concertgoers to do this before and after the event. We'll sign people up, and generally share our enthusiasm and great nature with a like minded group of her fans. The Philadelphia concert was a triumph, and the fans more than receptive. Her mention of Obama as she introduced "Christmas in Washington" brought a rousing response. May this Christmas in Washington be a time of excited anticipation, and good riddance.
