The legend continues... Willies' daughter, Paula Nelson makes her debut in Luckenbach. Don't miss this show. Paula is making music her own way and it's good! The 37-year-old Austin resident started singing with her father and sister, Amy, at age 5. But she didn’t really think seriously about singing until she was in her 20s singing along with songs performed by The Judds. Because she didn’t have a tape, she would sing into her answering machine so she could listen to the playback. She then graduated to karaoke bars. Writing her own music was never a problem. Nelson said she writes songs using the piano and guitar but rarely plays them on stage. “It really did come naturally because it’s so personal. It really is like a journal. I always write the melody first, then just kind of hear the lyrics in the melody phrasing,” she said, adding that penning her own music also gives her the “last word.” Band members include George Devore (rhythm guitar, vocals), Matt Hubbard (keyboards, vocals and saxophone) Kevin Pearson (drums, vocals), Chris Johnson (bass) and Landis Armstrong (lead guitar
