Join Your Friends and Neighbors for San Jose 's "Show Us Your Hope Day"!
May 1st has been proclaimed as the City of San Jose 's official "Show Us Your Hope Day". On this day, residents and visitors to Willow Glen will join volunteer organizers of Relay For Life of Willow Glen to honor those who have survived cancer, are fighting cancer, or have lost their life to the disease.
On this special day, everyone in Willow Glen is invited to wear purple (the official color of Relay For Life) and shop at downtown boutiques who are donating 10% of their May 1st sales to Relay For Life of Willow Glen. Participating boutiques include: Bella James, Domus, Treehouse in The Glen, Ibis, Details, Fleurish, Three Sisters, WhatNots & DooDads, Top Nosh Deli. Willow Street Pizza will donate 20% of proceeds to guests who bring in this article or a flier.

Everyone is invited to stop by under the awning at the historic Garden Theater for a delicious cupcake and information sharing on the Relay and the American Cancer Society's 3rd historic cancer prevention study (CPS-3).
"This is a town-wide celebration and we hope everyone will participate on May 1st by wearing purple and shopping in downtown Willow Glen," says Pierluigi Oliverio, District 6 councilman for the City of San Jose. "As well, come out to learn more about the Relay For Life of Willow Glen and the Cancer Prevention Study (CPS-3)."
The week prior to Show Us Your Hope Day, Willow Glen residents, students and businesses are also invited to decorate doorways and cars in purple for the town's Relay For Life "Paint Our Town Purple" week-long celebration.
"During 'Paint Our Town Purple' week, Willow Glen residents, businesses and schools are invited add purple bows, ribbons and flags to their doorways and cars to honor cancer survivors, fighters, and loved ones lost," says Jenn Lesser, chair of this year's 10th Anniversary Relay For Life of Willow Glen.
