Show Down in Curd Town tractor pull to benefit FFA Alumni Friday June 29th.

Ellsworth, WI
The greatest show on dirt is back for the 2nd time on Friday June 29th at 7:30pm. The Ellsworth FFA Alumni has again joined with the Tri State Truck and Tractor Pullers Association to bring you this incredible night of smoke, speed and power. Last years event brought pullers from all over Wisconsin, Minnesota and Iowa. Hundreds of fans showed up to support and enjoy this first time event.
Feedback from the pullers, attendees and sponsors was phenomenal. Comments like “Hats off to the effort to put on a good show. The best I have seen in this area in a long time.” “It was a fun night with allot of horse power there. It was also nice to hook against different tractors with a different sled”, “Lots of different paint, good time”, “Great event, well put together”.
Back by popular demand again this year will be the Ironman sled. It was voted by the NTPA as the #1 sled for 2006. “It helps attract pullers when you have a great sled to hook with,” comments Doug Borth who is co-chairing the event with Kevin Lindstrom. “People want to see a lot of different tractors and we know a sled like the Ironman will bring the pullers in.”
The pull will be held at the Pierce County Fairgrounds in Ellsworth again this year. “It also helps to have a track that is famous. For as long as I can remember people have enjoyed pulling here”, Lindstrom said. “Last year we built a good track that lasted all night”. Classes that will be represented this year are 2WD & 4WD trucks, hot farm, super farm, modified and super pro tractors. Fans saw over 80 hooks last year and the Alumni is expecting the same if not a few more.
Concessions provided include brats, hot dogs, hot beefs, chips, nachos, pop and of course the famous Ellsworth cheese curds. A beer garden will also be open for the event. Added to the fun will be a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are $1 each and the winning ticket holder gets to split the proceeds from the raffle tickets sales with the Alumni, must be present to win. The gates will open at 5:30pm again this year with free parking on the grounds.
The local FFA Chapter members will be helping out. All of the proceeds from this event are designated for the advancement of agriculture in the schools and community. Last year the Alumni sent several chapter members to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, bought teaching materials for the schools, sponsored field trips, started a Junior FFA Chapter at the Middle School and began developing a scholarship for graduating seniors.
