From idea to shooting a movie in 10 days!

Course Description :

Taught by award-winning filmmaker/instructor Jonathan Pope Evans.

Week 1 Pitch the idea and write the script, preproduction, technical requirements, casting, and rehearsals!

Week 2 On location in Hollywood, film crew, call sheets, shot lists and a fast production schedule.

One month later... Class reunites for a fun premiere screening of the film at Theatre of Arts' Arena Stage!

You get a DVD of the production and footage from the rehearsals and dailies for use in your demo reels.

Our Objectives:

A. Develop the students skills on a professional film set; simulate a film shoot in order to equip students with on location pressures and obstacles.

B. Review film technique and feel "at home" in-front of the camera.

C. An emphasis on developing depth and flexibility in listening skills, concentration, and total immersion in moment-to-moment action.

D. Review basic knowledge and skills required to successfully work with technical demands on a film set.

E. The most important lesson one can learn is to allow the camera to photograph “you,” vulnerable, alive, present, and fighting for something both human and personal.
