In music, counterpoint is the relationship between two or more voices that are independent in contour and rhythm and are harmonically interdependent. In the visual arts, it refers to two opposing ideas working in harmony, and in art, this can come from any set of contrasting elements. This collection of Camille Muller’s musical-themed collages, Marlene Kawalez’s raku ‘Ladies in Waiting’ series and Mara Schiavetto’s florals and abstracts show three very different artists at work, while the artworks themselves create a wonderful visual counterpoint.

Etobicoke artist Camille Muller studied at McMaster University, the University of Western Ontario, London Teachers College and the Ontario College of Education and went on to an extensive teaching career. Camille enjoys working in watercolor, acrylics, collage, mixed media and print making. In the medium of porcelain/china she has earned the designation of Certified Master Artist and Master Teacher and continues to study with internationally recognized instructors in each medium and travels extensively to both study and conduct workshops.

As a participant in many juried, invitational group and solo shows internationally, Camille has won many awards - including several Best of Show. Her art techniques have been published in art magazines in Australia, Canada, England, Finland, Italy, Norway, Switzerland and the United States. Camille is currently a member of: Colour & Form Society, Central Ontario Art Association, Elora Centre for the Arts, Dunedin Fine Art Center, Neilson Park Creative Centre, Humber Valley Art Club and The Etobicoke Art Group. www.camille-art.com
