Sherry Markovitz: Shimmer July 30, 2008

This retrospective exhibition will be the first career-survey exhibition devoted to Sherry Markovitz's evocative beaded assemblages, drawings and paintings. Known for her seductive, obsessively-beaded animal heads, Markovitz's ostensible "craft" forms often obscure deeper psychological exploration that comes through in her recent doll figures.
