Shen Wei Dance Arts: Connect Transfer November 9, 2005

In 2003 American dance company Shen Wei Arts was presented by Het Muziektheater for the first time. At the time, the company showed two works to great acclaim: Rite of Spring and Folding.
In Connect Transfer dance, music and visual art are entwined. The piece begins with the twelve dancers of the Shen Wei company standing on an enormous piece of white canvas. During the performance, the canvas is painted by the dancers in a form of 'live action painting', resulting at the end of each evening in a different art work shown to the audience.
