Sheila Innes is a local shepherdess who has been working with sheep for over 30 years. She has worked on a number of estates and organic farms in the Nacton, Wenham and Orford areas of Suffolk, tending flocks of several thousand sheep, both for other farmers and her own flock. She regularly demonstrates sheep shearing at the Suffolk Show and recently appeared on BBC TV’s ‘Farmer’s Life For Me’ programme, teaching contestants how to shear. She will be demonstrating how to remove fleeces in a single piece using the Bowen method to minimize the stress to the sheep.
Sheila will be joined by Clare Dillon, from Hasketon, who as well as keeping Alpacas for wool enjoys spinning, weaving and machine knitting. Clare will be demonstrating tradition spinning of wool.
