Shawn Vougeot and CopaSetic at Trocaderos April 16, 2008

Join us at Trocaderos in downtown Minneapolis for an after-dinner evening of two classically-trained-gone-rock female powerhouse vocalists: Debra G. of CopaSetic and Shawn Vougeot. Opening at 9pm is CopaSetic, a funk/rock band dedicated to exploring a kaleidoscope of musical genres and molding them together with tasty grooves. CopaSetic strives to play with a combination of swagger, passion and precision that is unparalleled. Then comes the award-winning rock violinist and vocalist Shawn Vougeot (voo-ZHOH). Though her name may be a challenge to pronounce without a phonetic spelling at hand, her musical expression is easily identifiable - smack in front of you. Performing Vougeot's own original songs with a voice that is "soft, clear, at times operatic and …entrancing," she and her fellow musicians will also deliver unapologetically covers by artists such as Evanescence, Pink, Kelly Clarkson, and Brandi Carlile, all the while incorporating that Vougeot flair. Trocaderos will be the hot spot on this middle-of-the-week night on the town where you just might be inclined to kiss our blessed Earth that you came and stayed 'til the end.
