Can a Christian be gay? Can a gay man be a Christian? Shawn Thomas will share his message of inclusion at the First Presbyterian Church of San Jose on April 14th and 15th. Thomas, a Florida-based singer-songwriter with seven CDs to his credit, will deliver his message of inclusion at 7:30pm on Saturday the 14th with a full concert, and again as part of morning worship on Sunday, April 15th at 10:30am.

While Shawn's ministry through music calls him often to GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered) audiences, the songs are about salvation through Jesus Christ, not sexuality. In fact, one song on "Faith Unashamed," Thomas' 2007 release, is called "Not G** Enough for You," and offers a satirical description of how some in the GLBT community have criticized his music for not having "gay lyrics."

"Being gay is only a part of who God made me to be," Thomas said. "I simply want to glorify God and share the gospel of Christ, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to share in worship and praise with fellow Christians."

Media are invited to interview Shawn before or after his performances or in advance of his arrival in the San Jose area.
