Under the guidance and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the Department of Culture & Information of Sharjah Government has been organising international book exhibitions in Sharjah since 1982, a 10 -day annual event usually held during the first half of Decemb er. The prime aim of Sharjah World Book Fair is to generate reading habit among the people, mainly the younger generation, and to make quality books accessible to them at affordable prices.
International Representations:
In recognition of its international standard and success, the Sharjah World Book Fair is given memberships of many international organizations such as (1) Afro-Asian Book Council (2) Arab Publishers' Association (3) GCC Book Committee, etc.
Recognized by : International Publishers' Association (IPA).

- Fridays: (16.30 - 22.30)
- Boys' Schools: Saturdays & Mondays ( 09:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs).
- Girls' Schools: Sundays, Tuesdays ( 09:00 hrs to 13:00 hrs)
- General Public: Daily (16:30 - 22:30)
- Saturdays & Thursdays: (9:00 - 13:00) & (16:30 - 22:30)
