Shanghai Expat One Day Trip in Shanghai @ Zhu Jia Jiao June 10, 2006

Zhujiajiao is an old town with 700 years history, we will see the cannel, wooden boats, stone houses on riverside and a real local seniors life. Some here call it "The Venice of Shanghai", in the old town you will not see vehicles, only bikes and boats. Everyone will go on the "Fang Sheng Qiao "(The bridge for release the fish) which is a great place to view the village. You will see city god temple, church and tea houses. Past the bridge will be the main residential area, quiet and lovely. There are boat cruises available (50 yuan for six passengers). Local Snack food: such as smoked frog, pig legs, Zong Zi, fresh shrimps from Din Shan lake or just get a beer and talk to the river.
