Three of the buzziest up and coming new bands support original punk legends

Sham 69; Quite simply one of THE top punk bands. Led by the charismatic and irrepressible Jimmy Pursey they produced a stream of catchy, populist, short and sweet punk rock anthems including 'If The Kids Are United', 'Hurry Up Harry' and 'Angels With Dirty Faces' that made the British charts.

What makes Sham 69 even more interesting though is their arrival on the scene when Punk began to move from the more elitist fashion driven art scene to a rougher, more working class ethic. Above all Sham 69 were a fantastic, full on punk band with a dynamic live presences, a top singer and great tunes.

Sham 69 were the band genuinely doing it for the kids. This was punk rock for a lot of people and their street punk leadership would soon be swelled by the likes of the UK Subs, Ruts and Angelic Upstarts in the charts as punk caught a second wind that continues to be a huge inspiration on the next wave of musicians with something to say.“We're in a punk band that's it. If the bands gonna die it's gonna die as a punk band, not as a fuckin' pop group." (Jimmy Pursey)

Rioutous live fun, Jimmy Pursey and the gang are the original street punk legends, a huge musical, lyrical and cultural influence on the international music scene. This band started off mattering, and haven't stopped.

Bibelots; After a breakthrough year, Bibelots are ready (and tipped for) for the next stage... Where's Strutter - new, unsigned and already selling out venues in their native Manchester,
The Din are a Camden trio from Newcastle and Barcelona who have been turning heads and pricking up ears in all the right places.

Playhard is the perfect vehicle for Dingwalls to celebrate its 40th anniversary as the venue of legends - past, present and future. We will be presenting 2013 shows streamed LIVE from London to share the UK’s brilliant musical culture around the world. "If you wanna go to the best gig in the UK.. its PLAYHARD” (GotSeen TV)

Since 1973 an eclectic array of talents including The Strokes, Coldplay, The Drifters, Gilles Peterson, The Stranglers, Gallows, Ellie Goulding and most recently Noel Gallagher, Foo Fighters and Mumford & Sons have graced the Dingwalls stage. Trend setters such as Blondie, The Clash and The Sex Pistols have all played and hung out there, and are part of the firmament.

Playhard will be celebrating this illustrious past with special celebrity guest appearances / performances and the new upstarts who are carrying the torch from the different musical genres. Expect amazing high-energy shows!

“We are very excited to be working with Playhard. They are the ideal curators for this year of events, putting on a great show each month honoring Dingwalls history and the stars of the future. Life begins at 40.” (David Messer – Dingwalls)
