Shalom/Salaam Film Salon presents "Holy Land: Common Ground" (a film followed by discussion with director Ed Gaffney) October 5, 2008

The film features three stories of extraordinary but surprising bonds: between an Israeli and a Palestinian family over competing ties to the same home; between families on both sides work together to end the occupation; and between parents from both communities whose children were killed in the conflict. Directed by Ed Gaffney and Alicia Dwyer, Holy Land: Common Ground is an intimate journey with Israelis and Palestinians who struggle to understand one another and to live not as enemies, but as neighbors. We will follow the film with a discussion of how the issues portrayed affect efforts to bring a just, secure and peaceful solution to the area's conflict.

The Shalom/Salaam Film Salon is a presentation of the Los Angeles Chapter of Brit Tzedek v’Shalom and The Workmen’s Circle.

The mission of Brit Tzedek v’Shalom, the Jewish Alliance for Justice and Peace, is to educate and mobilize American Jews in support of a negotiated two-state resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
