SF Sketchfest Presents: Cinematic Titanic with cast and creator of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" May 6, 2011

Cinematic Titanic is the feature-length movie riffing show from the creator and original cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000. Like MST3K, the show was created by Joel Hodgson and features the same team that first brought the Peabody Award winning cult-classic series to life: Trace Beaulieu (Crow, Dr. Forrester), J. Elvis Weinstein (Tom Servo, Dr. Erhardt), Frank Conniff (TV’s Frank), and Mary Jo Pehl (Pearl Forrester). Cinematic Titanic continues the tradition of riffing on ‘the unfathomable’, ‘the horribly great’, and the just plain ‘cheesy’ movies from the past. Founded in late 2007, Cinematic Titanic is an artist-funded, and artist-owned and operated venture. With ten feature-length DVDs and an ever-growing schedule of live shows, the CT crew is reconnecting with MSTies around the world as well as bringing new fans to the comedy art form first introduced by this group 20 years ago on television.

In Samson and the 7 Miracles of the World, hordes of sadistic Mongol warriors descend upon China, and it’s up to the legendary strongman Samson to defend the land, save the virgin princess, and burrow out of a rocky tomb in this “classic” sword-and-sandal spectacle that makes that awful Clash of the Titans remake look like Citizen Kane.

Rattlers finds Sam Parkinson, a herpetologist (that’s a scientist that studies reptiles, get your brain out of the gutter!), investigating a series of fatal rattlesnake attacks in the Mojave Desert,
a barren landscape as devoid of water as the screenplay is of passable dialogue. Will Sam be able to stop these chemically-altered rattlers before it’s too late? Will anyone care?
