The 7th Annual SF Sketchfest presents

SF SKETCHFEST IN THE MISSION
with Sunshine Fortress, Pangea 3000 and Trophy Dad

Cost: $10

Sunshine Fortress
Unlike other sketch comedy groups that spend most of their time trying to entertain people with short comedic skits or "sketches" the number one priority for Sunshine Fortress is community involvement. In the 2 years they have been together they have spearheaded such programs as "Toys For Fat Kids" and the "Cancer Isn't Funny It's Sad Awareness Project." "We've always felt that fat kids needed toys that, because of poison, they wouldn't be able to eat," says group leader Nicole Calasich, "and lets face it, cancer is no joke!" Group co-founder Matt Lieb agrees, "I agree". Other members include Amelia Kardooni, Sam Chase, Max Hartman, and Mary Van Note.

Pangea 3000
Pangea 3000 is a sketch comedy group based in New York, where they have a regular show at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater. Its members are contributing writers to The Onion (where one is a staff writer), have worked for Comedy Central, and contributed to McSweeney’s, Yankee Pot Roast, and New York Magazine Online. The group has performed at the D.C. Comedy Festival, and at universities and comedy clubs in Boston and New York. Members of the group have also performed at the Chicago Sketch Festival and the Best of the Best Sketch Festival in Portland.

Trophy Dad
Trophy Dad is a regular act at the Upright Citizen's Brigade Theater in New York City where their sketch-play Teenager High! has met rave reviews. Since 2003 they've played to sold-out houses at the People's Improv Theater, Playwrights Horizons and other New York venues, and at festivals in Chicago, Washington DC, and Portland. Known for their meticulous and large-scale approach to comedy video production, Trophy Dad has appeared on Fuse TV (Munchies), VH1 (Best Week Ever Film Fest), MTV (Nick Canon's Short Circuitz), G4 (Attack of the Show) and the CW (Online Nation). Their video "Factor 5" won College Humor's 2007 Short Film Contest.

SF Sketchfest runs January 10 -27.
