SF Jazz Collective 2011 PDX Jazz Festival Bridges and Boundaries: Jewish & African Americans Playing Jazz Together February 26, 2011

The SF JAZZ Collective is an all-star octet that annually looks back and re-arranges famous compositions of jazz masters from Monk and Trane to Hancock and Tyner. In 2011, Portland Jazz Festival is proud to present the premiere performance of SF JAZZ Collective Plays Stevie Wonder. A Motown Records star at age 11, Stevie released a string of classic albums in the 70's that fused elements of his roots from the soul music scene in Detroit with R&B, jazz, and reggae.
