Announcing the first ever SF East Bay Laconica / OpenMicroBlogging Hackfest!

Join us for a one-day event where we will work together to add new features and fix bugs in Laconica and OMB-related projects. All coders welcome. Come help us work on Laconica or your own related project, or come brainstorm something new.

Laconica (pronounced "luh-KAWN-ih-kuh") is a Free and Open Source microblogging platform. It helps people in a community, company or group to exchange short (140 character) messages over the Web. Users can choose which people to "follow" and receive only their friends' or colleagues' status messages. It provides a similar service to sites like Twitter, Jaiku, and Plurk.

Additionally, you can participate via IRC on #laconica channel on irc.freenode.net.

I would RSVP via laconi.ca but on both FireFox/Mac and Safari, whenever I'm logged on, all pages include the note "acct_mgr.web_ui.MessageWrapper object at 0xa0196ec" or similar #'s but no Edit buttons or other interface.

@raines: sorry about that. Stupid trac makes you register and validate your email addy before you can edit. Anyway, glad to know you're coming!
