SEX, DRUGS, and ROCK & ROLL: A NEW REVUE September 27, 2007

New Line Theatre opens its 17th season at its new home with the world premiere of the new revue of theatre songs, SEX, DRUGS, AND ROCK & ROLL, a fearless, funny, and powerful exploration of these three most dominant forces in American culture, running Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, September 27-October 20, 2007, at 8:00 p.m. each night. The show features songs from Hair, Rent, Avenue Q, Little Shop of Horrors, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Rocky Horror Show, Songs for a New World, and lots more. Ranging from the actual moment of conception ("Prologue from Baby") to venereal disease ("I Got It from Agnes") to adultery ("Nobody Needs to Know") to threesomes ("By Threes") to adult entertainment ("Perky Little Porn Star"), Act I explores the complexities of human sexuality in all its comedy and tragedy. Act II tackles drugs from marijuana ("Pitch for Pot") to hashish ("Hashish") to morphine ("The Morphine Tango"); and explores extreme human emotions that only rock music can fully express.
