"New voices from Northwest Lower Michigan"

From a farm in Lake City, Michigan near Cadillac come Seth Bernard and Daisy May, young songwriters with commitment and a bit of charm. Performing separately and together, their concerts have a feel that's intimate and genuine, as if you've been invited into their living room to listen. Daisy May sings old-time country with a keen eye for small-town life and, in the words of the Harvard Independent, "the sort of soul-baring voice that moves the Alan Lomaxes of the world to abandon the ivory tower for the back roads of rural America." Bernard is an expert small-body guitarist at home with jazz-influenced songs as well as straight-ahead folk. Their freeform, make-it-up-as-you-go version of Roger Miller's "You Can't Roller Skate in a Buffalo Herd" is worth the price of admission all by itself.
