Services to Products : Challenges of Going Global for Indian Software May 11, 2007

Is India's competitiveness in software services a good platform for developing an IT product industry in software or hardware? For many decades, this seemed to be a far-fetched notion. However, in the past few years, a range of product companies has mushroomed in the Indian environment. Some of them are linked to global markets either through sources of funding or vendors. Most sell into the domestic environment, although some plan to use their domestic experience to go global.

The panel will explore whether the growing Indian domestic market, the export of services, or other aspects, such as increasing foreign direct investment are beginning to change this, and what we might expect in the next few years.

CEOs and other executives from a number of Indian Software Companies are visiting the US in May. SIPA has organized this special event for its members to interact and network with these companies and determine where the next professional and entrepreneurial opportunities are.
