After having grown up in San Diego, on the border of two amazing and distinct countries, traveling the world, and living in Paris I can hontestly say that I have been influenced by a miliad of cultures. Here's a little of my musical background and my projects in the immediate future... I started music lessons at the tender age of 3 1/2 on the violin. At 9 years old I begged my parents for a harp. Ofcourse, I still don't really know what drew me to the harp but I just had to have one! That's how it all started- and until this day I can't imagine being anything other than a musician. After getting a bachelor's degree from San Diego State University in 2005, I moved to Paris to study harp with Isabelle Perrin at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. I think this time Paris was the most important for not only my musical carreer but for myself as a person. After a year of working harder than ever with my harp on technique and sound quality I was able to pass the final jury competition with the only unanimous vote from the jury panel! This was quite an accomplishment for me being that the harpists competing were incredible. Also, in Paris I was able to make friendships with other young harpists - something that was difficult in San Diego where there aren't very many of us! I have since returned from Paris with a Diplome Superieur de Musique in harp performance and am currently back at SDSU getting an american Master's degree once again in harp performance. Currently I am working as a soloist, free-lance harpist, and harpist for the Orquesta de Baja California (OBC) based in Tijuana, Mexico. I'd like to thank the followin people for being inspirational to me and my music along with just being great friends! Elena Mashkovtseva, Isabelle Perrin, Marta Power, AnnMarie Liss, Roland Schleider, The musicians of the OBC, Laura Vaughan, Sarah Davis, Thank you!
